User Guide: WP Blesta Connect

WP Blesta Connect shows your Blesta packages, prices and order links on your WordPress site. This guide covers installation, connecting to Blesta, syncing, the shortcodes, the currency switcher, domain search and automatic updates.

Installation and setup #

1. Requirements #

  • WordPress 5.8 or later and PHP 7.4 or later, with the OpenSSL PHP extension.
  • A Blesta installation that your WordPress server can reach over HTTPS.
  • A Blesta API user and key (step 3).

2. Install the plugin #

  1. Download the plugin .zip from Downloads & updates in your account.
  2. In WordPress, go to Plugins > Add New Plugin > Upload Plugin, choose the .zip and click Install Now.
  3. Click Activate.

3. Create a Blesta API user #

  1. In your Blesta admin area, go to Settings > System > API Access.
  2. Click Add API User, give it a name such as WordPress and save.
  3. Copy the API user and the API key.

4. Connect WordPress to Blesta #

  1. In WordPress, go to Settings > WP Blesta Connect.
  2. Blesta Base URL: the address of your Blesta installation, for example https://billing.yourdomain.com/.
  3. API User and API Key: the values from step 3. The key is encrypted with AES-256 before it is saved.
  4. Default Order Form Slug: the order form path used for order links, for example order or order/main/index.
  5. Automated Sync Frequency: Hourly, Twice Daily, Once Daily, or Manual Only.
  6. Click Save Settings.

5. Run the first sync #

Click Sync Now in the Sync Status & Control box. The plugin copies your packages, terms, setup fees, domain prices and currencies into WordPress. Large catalogues sync in batches; if a sync stops, the next one carries on where it left off. The box shows how many pricing records were synced and when.

6. Activate your license for automatic updates #

  1. Install the free WordPress Topeta Framework plugin the same way.
  2. Go to Settings > Topeta Licenses, paste your license key next to WP Blesta Connect and click Activate. Your key is under Licenses in your account.
  3. New versions then appear in Dashboard > Updates. WP Blesta Connect works without the framework; you only need it for updates. See the framework user guide.

Showing prices and order links #

Use the shortcodes in any post, page, widget or page builder. The id is the package ID in Blesta: open the package under Packages > Browse and use the number at the end of the edit link.

  • [blesta_package id="5" field="price"] shows the formatted price, for example $19.99.
  • [blesta_package id="5" term="yearly" field="price_cycle"] shows the price with its billing cycle, for example $99.00 / Year.
  • field can also be renew_price, setup_fee, name, term, period or currency. Add format="false" for a plain number.
  • Use term, period and currency to pick one pricing option, for example term="1" period="year" currency="USD".
  • [blesta_package_table group_id="1"] shows a comparison table of every package in a Blesta package group.

Order buttons in page builders #

[blesta_package id="5" field="order_url"] outputs only the order link, so you can paste it into the Link field of a button in Elementor, Divi, Bricks, Beaver Builder or the block editor. To open a particular order form and package group, add them: [blesta_package id="5" field="order_url" form="web-hosting" group="28"].

Currency switcher #

  1. After a sync, go to Settings > WP Blesta Connect > Currency Switcher.
  2. Tick the Currencies to Offer (leave all unticked to offer every synced currency) and choose the Default Currency for new visitors.
  3. Add [blesta_currency_switcher] to your header or pricing page. Use label="code" to show codes only.

Prices without a currency attribute, and order links, switch to the visitor’s currency straight away, without reloading the page. The switcher only appears when Blesta has prices in two or more currencies. Price Decimals controls whether prices show cents; Blesta still charges the exact amount at checkout.

Domain search and domain prices #

  • [blesta_domain_search] adds a search box. It checks the name with the public registries and lists each extension with its Blesta price and a Register button. Choose the extensions with tlds=".com,.net,.org" and the Blesta domain order form with form="domain-registration".
  • [blesta_domain tld=".com" field="register_price"] shows one price. field can be register_price, renew_price, transfer_price or order_url.
  • [blesta_domains_table] lists all synced extensions with their prices. Add limit="20" to show fewer.

Troubleshooting #

  • Sync fails or shows an error: check the Base URL opens in a browser, the API user and key are correct, and your Blesta firewall allows requests from your WordPress server.
  • A shortcode shows nothing: run Sync Now, then check the package ID and that the package has a price for the term and currency you asked for.
  • Prices are out of date: choose a more frequent sync, or click Sync Now after changing prices in Blesta. WP-Cron runs when your site gets visits; on quiet sites use a real cron job.
